Air Traffic Control- KBVI
Well today was a wild day straight from the start. I didnt talk once on frequency though it was calm wind and clear. Reason being TFR for VIP was up. Once i walk into the tower everyone is staring at the STARS display and I notice AF2. Well what do you know its Mr. VP in his boeing 757 turning to final at KPIT. Soon after we see in the bottom of the screen AF1 in the wonderful boeing 747-200. Looking at the display kind of put a smile on my face since it was the first time i dealt with a TFR at KBVI. Soon after while the TFR is stil active we dash over to the screen and notice something awesome on the screen. Its a Dassault Falcon 50 and its data block says BVI. Did my day just get even better! I stood there and watched a wonderful FA50 land at BVI hear its loud roar. Today was by far one of the coolest days so far in my ATC studies.
Winter don’t wanna give up…was 75 yesterday…29 today with snow. No traffic today for sure. But look at those colors :)
Check this baby out. Super King Air 4Ø4J. Loved watching it land from the tower. I didnt taxi it but was on flight data making the strip on it :3
Reasons why I stay up at night.
Now those are some hot colors!
Dark snowy and closed. KBVI tower closed for the night. Check out the RTBN at the top of the tower.
Common Aviation Phrases
The three most common phrases in airline aviation are “Was that for us?” “What’d he say?” and “Oh Shit!” Since computers are now involved in flying, a new one has been added: “What’s it doing now?”
Yeah, this is spot on.
I remember I looked at my voltage meter and actually said “Whats it doing now” havent flown anything with a computer yet ;P
